TOP 2027 WEDDING TRENDS: styling, details and MODERN WEDDING ideas.

2027 weddings are all about creating an experience that feels meaningful, immersive and true to you. From soft draping, elegant florals to unique and thoughtful guest experiences and nostalgic wedding content creation, these are some of the trends I am seeing take the wedding world by storm in the most beautiful way.

Romantic Stationery with Lace and Texture.

Stationery is no longer just something you send out, it’s becoming a key part of your wedding styling.

One trend I’m absolutely loving are the soft, romantic textures and materials especially lace-trimmed stationery like invitations, save the dates or menus. Think delicate lace edges, handmade or textured paper, lace ribbons… all of those beautiful soft details that feel timeless and feminine.

Invitations with elegant touches like these sets the tone for your entire day before your guests have even arrived and carrying those lace details through into your on-the-day stationery creates such a cohesive, romantic feel across your entire wedding.

From a wedding content creator perspective, these pieces photograph beautifully. Flat lays instantly feel more elevated, and those little details add so much depth and softness to your photos and videos.

It’s such a simple way to make your wedding feel more considered and cohesive starting right from the very first impression.

Long Cathedral Veils with Lace and Custom Embroidery.

Veils are having such a moment right now and we are here for it! The longer the veil, the better.

I’m seeing more and more brides choosing long cathedral veils with delicate lace trims and custom embroidery, and they add such a beautiful, romantic touch to your overall look. These types of veils go with any dress style too! Whether it’s your name, your wedding date, or a meaningful phrase stitched into the veil, it’s such a subtle way to personalise your outfit and it’s something you can cherish forever.

There’s something about a long veil that just feels so timeless and elevated. It creates movement, softness, and a bit of drama in the best way - especially when it catches the light or flows behind you as you walk.

As a wedding content creator, these are always a dream to capture. The way they move, the detail in the lace, the close-ups of the embroidery… it all adds so much depth and emotion to your photos and videos.

It’s one of those details that not only looks beautiful in the moment but becomes even more special when you look back on it.

Material Signage with soft-draped textures.

Just like wedding day stationery, signage is becoming less structured and more romantic.

We’re seeing a beautiful shift from traditional acrylic signs to soft, flowing materials like chiffon and satin - almost like an extension of your bridal look. Think welcome signs that gently drape with excess material and move in the breeze, delicate lace trims carried through from your stationery, and bar signs finished with subtle ruffle details. It all feels so cohesive and we couldn’t be more obsessed!

Instead of signage feeling like a separate element, it becomes part of the overall styling. It is layered, textured, and thoughtfully designed to tie everything together. When those same materials and details are carried from your invitations to your veil, and into your signage, it creates a really seamless elevated look across your entire day.

I’m also seeing couples get more creative with how these pieces are styled. They’re draped over frames, hung from structures, or layered over soft backdrops to add depth and movement. It’s less about having something perfectly structured, and more about creating something that feels soft, effortless, and a little bit undone in the best way.

These always look so beautiful in your wedding day content. The way the fabric moves, catches the light, and adds softness to a space makes everything feel more elevated and romantic on camera. It’s one of those details that might seem small - but it completely transforms the feel of your styling.

Non-Traditional Wedding Cakes.

Wedding cakes are getting a bit of a glow-up - and I’m not mad about it.

We’re seeing a shift away from classic multi-tiered cakes and towards designs that feel more unique, relaxed, and full of personality. Think long, rectangular single-tier cakes, soft vintage-style finishes, and even alternatives like tiramisu. Italian-inspired cakes topped with fresh berries, especially raspberries, are also having such a moment. They feel effortless, romantic, and just a little bit different in the best way.

Florals are making an appearance in cakes too often with similar flowers from the bridal bouquet, bar flowers and ceremony backdrops.

One trend I’m loving is the addition of candles placed along these long cakes for the couple to blow out together- such a fun, unexpected twist on the traditional cake cutting and such a special little moment to share.

Overall, these styles create a real wow factor - not because they’re over the top, but because they feel personal, elevated, and genuinely enjoyable for both you and your guests.

Because at the end of the day, your cake should feel like more than just a tradition - it should feel like a moment… and a very delicious one at that!

Seating Charts That Double as Guest Experiences or Favours.

Seating charts are no longer just a sign you glance at and move on from. They’re becoming part of the experience!

Instead of a traditional board, couples are getting creative with ideas that feel more personal and interactive. I’m seeing things like handwritten letters for each guest, luggage tags for destination weddings (New Zealand or Italy weddings do this so well), and even shot glasses with name tags attached.

Each one feels like a little gift, not just a way to find your seat. The smiles on the guest faces when they see an interactive seating chart, gets us every time!

And one of my absolute favorites I’ve seen? Personalized tambourine seating charts. They are so much fun!! Not only do they help guests find their place, but they become part of the celebration itself—used to make noise as you enter your reception, brought onto the dance floor, or shaken as you make your exit at the end of the night. It’s such a simple way to turn something practical into something memorable, exciting and unique

These kinds of details add personality, create moments, and give your guests something to take home with them - making your wedding feel that little bit more special from start to finish.

Drapes, Drapes…and More Drapes!

As wedding content creators, we love a dramatic drape moment!

Draping is everywhere right now and it’s completely transforming the look and feel of wedding spaces. From soft, flowing backdrops for bridal portraits or guest photos (sometimes even styled as an open-air photo booth), to oversized silk drapes layered over tables like your cake or signing table… it’s those fabric details that instantly add depth and softness.

We’re also seeing drapes taken to the next level across ceilings, paired with chandeliers or statement lighting. It creates such a romantic, immersive atmosphere - like you’ve stepped into a completely different space.

Even smaller details, like card boxes styled with draped material, are being elevated in the same way - we’ve seen some awesome DIYs for this on socials lately!

What I love most about this trend is how it softens everything. It takes a space that might feel quite structured or plain and turns it into something warm, romantic, and full of movement.

It’s one of those styling elements that can completely change the energy of a room without needing to overcomplicate anything.

Green and White Florals That Make a Statement.

Green and white florals are proving that sometimes less colour can actually create more impact.

This palette feels fresh, elevated, and timeless but when it’s done well, it’s anything but simple. Whether you choose real or faux flowers, this colour palette looks refined but still with that wow-factor!

We’re seeing beautiful combinations of textured greenery and soft whites, with florals like draping amaranthus, green hydrangeas, anthuriums, calla lilies, hortensia, snapdragons, and white roses all layered together to create depth and movement.

What makes this trend stand out is how it’s carried consistently throughout the entire day. From bridal bouquets to the groom and groomsmen’s boutonnieres, to statement ceremony backdrops, bar installations, and large floral clusters placed at the ends of reception tables or styled along the floor. Even table centerpieces are becoming part of that bigger picture - designed to flow seamlessly with the rest of the florals rather than stand alone.

It creates such a cohesive, immersive feel like the florals are truly part of the space, not just added to it. We love an epic flower moment where your florals do the talking and this palette does exactly that.

Serpentine Reception Tables That Make a Statement.

As a wedding content creator capturing weddings across Australia, New Zealand and Europe, I’ve always loved the beauty of long, rectangular tables but these curved reception tables are quickly becoming a favourite.

Instead of traditional straight or round tables, we’re seeing long, flowing S-shaped setups that instantly change the feel of a space. They’re modern, soft, and naturally eye-catching without needing to overdo anything.

There’s something so magical about these tables set outdoors under fairy lights, beneath the night sky, surrounded by candles and soft, moody lighting. It creates such an intimate, almost cinematic atmosphere where everything feels warm, connected, and a little bit surreal in the best way. Your guests aren’t just seated at separate tables they’re part of one long, shared moment.

It also changes the energy of your reception. Conversations flow more easily, the space feels more open, and it naturally brings everyone together rather than dividing the room.

When styled well, these tables become a feature in themselves. The curve, the lighting, the florals, the candles; it all works together to create something that feels effortlessly elevated without needing to overcomplicate anything.

It’s one of those trends that feels modern, but still incredibly romantic and such a beautiful way to make your reception feel unforgettable!

At the End of the Day…

Trends will come and go but your wedding should always feel like you. The best part about weddings is you can truly do what you want with your day. Take what you love, leave what you don’t, and create a day that feels natural, beautiful, and completely your own and if capturing those details, moments, and everything in between matters to you, that’s exactly what I’m there for - to preserve it all in a way that lets you relive it long after the day is over.
